ROACH CONTROL & TREATMENT
The German cockroach mostly inhabits kitchens in homes. When the problem with it grows, however, it can often be found in other rooms in the home. In such cases, our practice shows us that it uses places such as: cornices, mattress frames, beds, tables, wardrobes, cracks, behind sockets, in air pockets behind wallpaper or paneling, as well as many other unexpected places.
The German cockroach reaches a maximum size of 2 cm. It is an extremely adaptable species, but generally prefers moist and warm places. It reproduces extremely quickly by laying egg sacs, in which up to 60 eggs can be found within a single clutch. The eggs from the egg sac hatch after only a few hours, as the female has previously carried them in her body for several weeks until they develop.
You can also recognize them by the smell they give off. When their population is high you may notice a slight musty smell. You can also detect their presence by the specific unpleasant smell that cockroaches emit when they are excited or frightened. German cockroaches are capable of multiplying extremely quickly. Their small size allows them to hide effectively.
